When you’re using all in one kegs for bars, restaurants, or home use, one of the most important things that you’ll need to think about is keeping it clean. Keeping your kegerator clean is vital because it will make sure that your beer remains fresh and it will prevent contaminations in any future kegs. CLEANING THE EXTERIOR
The process is typically split up between two different parts: cleaning the exterior and cleaning the interior. First, you’ll want to clean the exterior of the keg after each usage. This will remove beer residue from the line and the faucet. Without doing this, microbial infections could occur in the kegerator. To start, make sure that the kegerator is turned off and unplugged. Use warm water, a clean piece of cotton cloth, and some unscented soap to clean the outside of the kegerator. The areas you should clean will include the tap, regulator, tank, spill tray, and beer lines.
CLEANING THE INTERIOR
Cleaning the kegerator internally is essentially the cleaning of the removable parts of it. While a cloth and some soap is really all that’s needed for the exterior, the interior will require a bucket, a hand-pumped bottle, and some cleaning solution. The faucet and couplers can be soaked in a mixture of hot water and cleaning solution; if needed, you can use a scrubber to give it a deeper cleaning. The difficult part deals with cleaning the beer lines. To accomplish this, leave one end of the beer lines inside of a bucket. Attach the hand-pumped bottle (filled with cleaning solution) to the faucet and pump the solution through the beer lines. Let the solution stay in the tubes for a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. Do this at least three times.
